Keeper of My Castle
I open the front door quietly
Not to disturb you if you are sleeping
But you meet me with a wagging tail
For my castle you are keeping
You jump, and yelp and lick my face
How happy you are I'm home
"Where have you been" your eyes ask
How could you leave me all alone?
I drop my parcels at the door
And hold you in my arms
You smother my face with kisses
And win me over with your charms
All my cares begin to disappear
No more worries on my mind
I'm enveloped in the love you give
My troubles left far behind
You truly are my best friend
And when the sun has set
You cuddle right up next to me
My most beloved pet
